The Ultimate Book Tag

I had initially thought that I’ll do this tag after the A to Z Challenge was over. But since it’s the World Book Day, I decided that today was the perfect day for publishing this post.

I saw this tag the other day on The Jouska Blog and decided to give it a go! Do visit her blog and help spread the blog love. 🙂

  1. DO YOU GET SICK WHILE READING IN THE CAR?

Not at all! I tend to read a lot while I’m in the car.

  2. WHICH AUTHOR’S WRITING STYLE IS COMPLETELY UNIQUE TO YOU AND WHY?

That would be like asking me to pick a favourite song. I think every author has a style that’s unlike any other author.

  3. HARRY POTTER SERIES OR THE TWILIGHT SAGA? GIVE 3 POINTS TO DEFEND YOUR ANSWER.

It’s a no-brainer. Harry Potter Series –  Always! I’ve already written about how and why these books hold a special place in my heart. Here’s an excerpt from a post I’d published more over a year ago.

“Ever since I first read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Philosopher’s Stone, to some of you.), nearly thirteen years ago, I had been branded for life. I’ve been a Potterhead for so long, that I can even be safely classified as a Harry Potter nerd. I had been totally obsessed with the books, the movie series it had spawned, and in short, anything and everything, that was even remotely related to Harry Potter. Needless to say, I own all seven books and they are the most battered books in my collection; made worse for wear, by the countless times I’ve read them, over and over again. So obsessed had I been, that I had even gone to the trouble of making a scrapbook of sorts, and filled it completely with almost every “Harry Potter” newspaper cuttings, that I could lay my hands on. If I’d been living in London (or at the very least, had the means to get to London.) I’d have stood in line, waiting for hours on end, wearing a cloak, just to get a signed copy from J.K. Rowling.”

  4. DO YOU CARRY A BOOK BAG? IF SO, WHAT IS IN IT (BESIDES BOOKS)?

When I do carry a book bag, it’ll definitely contain my headphones, Kindle reader (I love reading. Now please don’t ask me to choose between Kindle and books!), water bottle and my umbrella.

  5. DO YOU SMELL YOUR BOOKS?

Yes, I do. It’s also one of the things that my Kindle isn’t capable of. So whenever I pick up a book, I find joy in little things like this.

  6. BOOKS WITH OR WITHOUT LITTLE ILLUSTRATIONS.

As long as the story manages to capture my interest, I don’t care about illustrations or lack thereof.

  7. WHAT IS THE THINNEST BOOK ON YOUR SHELF?

Hmmm.. probably Macbeth or Julius Caesar (courtesy of my ISC and ICSE exams respectively) 😀

  8. WHAT IS THE THICKEST BOOK ON YOUR SHELF?

Winter of the World by Ken Follett.

  9. WHEN DID YOU GET INTO READING?

I have always sort of gravitated towards books! But I guess receiving a copy of the first Harry Potter book was what really turned me into a reader.

  10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CLASSIC BOOK?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

  11. IN SCHOOL WHAT WAS YOUR BEST SUBJECT?

English, Mathematics, and Physics. (Not necessarily in that order. 😉 😀 )

  12. IF YOU WERE GIVEN A BOOK AS A PRESENT THAT YOU HAD READ BEFORE AND HATED, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I would donate it to a library unless someone very close to me gave me that book. In that case, my first reaction would be to hit them over the head with that book for giving me a book that I’d read before and hated. 😂😂😂😂😂(In my defence, I happen to be someone who rates each and every book I’ve finished reading on Goodreads!) It’ll be best to donate the book to a library or if I’m being selfish, see if I’ll be able to return and get it exchanged for another book.

  13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORD?

Fiction. It’s also my favourite genre 😀

  14. FULL ON ROMANCE BOOKS OR ACTION-PACKED WITH A FEW LOVE SCENES MIXED IN?

Hmm… I can’t say for sure. It depends on a number of factors – how good the book is, the author, my mood…

I nominate everyone. If you feel like doing this tag, go ahead and do it! Create a pingback to this post or drop a comment to let me know when you’ve published your answers. 🙂
