#AtoZChallenge: X? (tiny tale #31)

“Okay. Who can tell me the value of x in this question?”, asked the teacher.
As her students raced to be the first to solve the problem, the young teacher’s memories took her back to the time when she was a student…

(A flashback to 20 years before the present day)

“Swati, have you been daydreaming again. Tell me, what is x?”
Little Swati thought for a while and blurted out, “It’s the EXTRA INGREDIENT that Professor Utonium accidentally added to the concoction…. CHEMICAL X.
Thus, the POWERPUFF GIRLS WERE BORN!”

“Using their ultra super powers,
BLOSSOM, BUBBLES, and BUTTERCUP have dedicated their lives to FIGHTING CRIME and the FORCES OF EVIL!!!”, continued a grinning Swati.

Her teacher stood with her mouth hanging open, too stunned to react. Meanwhile all around her, the entire class exploded into laughter and applause.
