100 posts!

When I started blogging, well over two years ago, my blog was titled “Deciphering Life”. Much like the title, I was a beginner who was trying to decipher blogging! 😂 Back then, I was a highly erratic blogger who chose struggled to write once every month! My reader base mostly entirely consisted of friends and family who were relentlessly persuaded *cough cough* (read: endlessly harassed) to until they read the stuff that I published. My stats (or lack of) hit two figures on my lucky days. I was a total newbie, still learning the ropes. I wish I had known back then that interacting with the blogging community would have made all the difference. But I had been shy at first and it hasn’t been long since I really started being active in the blogosphere. And better late than never – so I’m glad that I took that leap sooner than later.

Nearly a year after I started, I deleted my first blog “Deciphering Life” because I felt that I lacked the motivation to write. I felt that writing was more of a chore than an escape and my blog felt like a burden rather than a source of joy. But luckily for me, I’d saved all the posts that I’d published back then. A few months after I deleted “Deciphering Life”, I discovered that although I may experience writer’s block from time to time, I’ll never be cured of the writing bug! 😁 Thus, My Random Ramblings was born with posts imported from “Deciphering Life”. That’s the reason why although this blog is only a little over a year old, you’ll see posts dating back to 2014 in the archives!

When I started off, it was a struggle to publish at least one post every month. Never in my wildest imaginations did I imagine that My Random Ramblings would grow so much. Here’s the kicker – I considered myself to be a non-fiction writer. I wrote anything but fiction, and 100 posts seemed like a distant reality! These days, I write so much that I know there’ll be at least four posts every month! (Sidenote: Six-word Saturdays. Does that sound good?) And most of what I write is fiction! I don’t think my obsession with flash fiction will be ending anytime soon. I’ve grown so much as a writer and none of this would have been possible without your support, my dear readers.

Two (nearly three!) years. Two deleted blogs. And so many milestones later, here we are today! It’s been an amazing ride. Thank you for being a part, and for continuing to be a part of this wonderful journey.

Thank you so much for all your love and support. Thank you for inspiring me. Your comments fill me with so much happiness and motivate me to write more! I’ve said this already but I’ll say it again – My Random Ramblings is here to stay. And I hope that all the support and encouragement will continue. Thanks again! Do keep reading. I hope that you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them. 😊

  1. Congratulations on 100 posts, how wonderful that you persevered so that we can all enjoy your lovely writing. I think we’re all a bit shy initially. I know I was too. Keep enjoying. 😊 💜

  2. Thank you for all those little tales that you weave and Congratulations for reaching the 100 mark!
It is a little difficult to believe that you had your doubts or that you were shy to communicate with the blogging community. It definitely means that you have grown as a writer and made yourself comfortable in the blogosphere.
Such a pleasure to be a part of your happiness and in your journey and even happier to be a good friend too!
All the best for more, Shweta! Ah! I have written your name at least five times and spelled it right too. Yipppi!!!

  3. I am currently going through many of the struggles that you went through during your early days.

It took such a long time for my blogs to reach double digits on a particular day. At first, it was a dream to reach more than 10 views a day or to write a post that gets more than 10 likes.

It’s only during this past week where my posts have begun to reach 10 likes along with getting double-digit views on a daily basis.

It’s so inspirational to see how you grew and I hope that I will be able to follow those ropes someday.
