Endings aren’t all that bad.
They make way for wonderful beginnings,
There’s nothing sad about endings.
After all, it’s just the start of something new.
Life is like music that changes its beats continuously,
never stopping, always changing…
Change is a constant.
And, while it might seem a bit hard to adapt to the new beat,
and get a hang of the latest rhythm…
eventually, you will.
You might even find that the new tune is growing on you…
getting fonder as time passes.
Change isn’t all that bad,
You can enjoy it…
if only you let go of your inhibitions, prejudices, and fears.
Set yourself free.
Embrace life for what it, rather than pining away
for what you wanted it to be.
Fly… Rise up…
Don’t ever stop trying.
Keep flapping your wings.
No fall is so hard that you won’t be able to rise up from it.
No end is truly the end,
unless and until you decide to give up…
So don’t give up.
Convert the endings into new beginnings,
rock bottom into a foundation for your success.
Keep shining. Keep smiling.
Always have the last laugh.
Don’t let life bring you down.
The choice is yours.
Use it well.
It can make, or break you.
So…
what’s it going to be?
Author’s Note:
This was something that I had scribbled in my diary several months ago. Since I’m still struggling to work around the writer’s block, I decided that I’ll share the above poem/epiphany/observation with you.
Sometimes life can seem so tough. Giving up on all of it might seem like the easy way out. Last month, I was deeply saddened to hear about Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington’s passing. I was in shock and filled with grief over such a tremendous loss. It’s weird how much the deaths of celebrities can affect us. Even though we’ve never really known them personally, we find ourselves in the grip of a profound sense of loss and grief. It is a testimony to the numerous lives that they have influenced unknowingly. For me, Linkin Park was not merely a band. Their songs were what got me through my late teenage years and all through the struggles of adulthood. They created songs that have the magical ability to lift my spirits even when I’m in the darkest of moods, soothe me when I’m hurting, calm me down when I’m angry. The lyrics never fail to resonant deep within… They helped settle down my heart when tempestuous, swirling thoughts had it racing a thousand miles a second. Even now, when I listen to the songs, it’s hard to accept that we’ll never get to hear his voice again. Truth be told, LP will never be the same for me. There’s a void that can’t be filled. It’s such a tragic loss. Chester has given us a thousand and more reasons to be missed. And I’ll keep him in my memory and leave out all the rest. #RIPCHESTER
Mental health is something that we take too much for granted. I wish that we could eradicate the stigma and misconceptions associated with mental illness completely. And I wish that every soul who finds themselves at a complete loss had someone to reach out to… someone who will not judge them… someone to make it better… someone to drag them back when they get too close to the edge.
*phew* I am glad to get that off my chest. And yes, on some of these days, I still listen to LP on repeat.

Ohh the music is simply amazing. As someone who’s been deeply affected by their music, his death came as a major shock. If time permits, do check out their songs. 🙂

Been listening to LP songs for the past few days. I began to realize almost all of the songs were about goodbyes and giving up. Ever since my school days, I’ve been rocking out to suicide songs. I felt betrayed. As kids, we learned the lyrics and sang along without realizing what they meant. It’s too bad we only came to realize the nature of his songs a little too late.

I wonder if it was a message that’s been hiding in plain sight all along. I feel like the songs have taken on a whole new meaning.

Oh yes. That was a death that affected me immensely. I only knew him through his voice but the fact that I’ll never get to hear that voice again came as a sudden, unexpected blow. I felt like I had to write it down… Everything seems a better once you’ve written what you want to say. Their music has helped me so much! Still does. May his soul rest in peace.

#RIPCHESTER. Is it not strange that the connection you have made is entirely and completely with the voice, but the bond is strong enough to grieve the loss of this wonderful singer. Songs and good music that you bond with have that power.
You may feel the void and may be the band might never mean to you without Chester but there is his voice that is here to stay.

Yep. And I’ll remember him every time I listen to any of his songs. It’s such a tragedy. 😔 He may be gone but he’s left behind a lot to remember him by. Good music has a lot of power. #RIPCHESTER

Music has a lot of power and most definitely once you get your attention on the singer, the power is ten fold. It sure will not be the same for you, Shweta.
