tiny tale #44: Chains…

Abuse and pain were all he knew.
The numerous scars on his body attested to his suffering.
The wounds had healed, but the scars remained…

Even now, the very sight of chains has him cowering… whining in pain.
The rescue pup has a long road to recovery.

  1. This tale really speaks to me. All our animals are rescues. It took months for our Winston to not cower in fear when I swept the floor. I can only imagine the horrors he suffered so very young. He was only 7 months old when we got him. 😢

    1. Ohhh poor baby! I’m glad that he’s got his forever home now. Proud of you for saving so many sweet souls, Kat. So much suffering in 7 months! I wonder what kind of animals can inflict so much harm to these poor creatures!!!

      1. I know. We just adopted a little Maltese mix. Only a year old and left in a dumpster outside of a high kill shelter with her three puppies covered in motor oil. The puppies were adopted out no problem. We took the mom who really is a puppy herself. It breaks my heart.

      2. Oh my God! Motor oil!!!! I wonder what kind of monsters have the heart (or don’t have one) to inflict such harm on these poor babies. But I’m glad that all four of them were able to find a forever home.

      3. Me too! She is truly a darling little girl. They say motor oil kills mange, which is what she and her pups were suffering from. My guess is they just became too much trouble for whoever dumped them off. Their loss, my gain. She’s a wonderful little dog that deserves so much more than they could give. I plan to spoil her! 😊

  2. At first, I thought it was domestic abuse, so, I kinda prepared myself. But after reading the tale, when I imagined the pup, oh, can’t tell you how heart-wrenching it was.Touching story.
