Author’s Note:

On a personal note, this story is bittersweet. On 16th August 2018, Kerala (the state in India where I hail from) was ravaged by one of the worst floods since 1924. Many lost their homes, crops, and worst of all – their lives. Though my home city didn’t receive the brunt of the disaster, it was nevertheless a harrowing experience.

This post was written in response to the Twittering Tale #148 photo prompt. The challenge is to tell a story based on the given photo prompt in 280 characters or less. Please visit the link to know more about this challenge.
