Obsessed with power and money, humans had transformed Mother Earth into a concrete jungle. Humans had wiped clean the greenery, only to replace it with more of their artificial monstrosities. Smart and intelligent as they were, humans didn’t have the slightest idea of what they were up against. “No trespassing” proclaimed the numerous boards that surrounded the humans’ white fortresses. However, that did not deter their adversaries from climbing the walls, slowly transforming the otherwise spotless walls into a green zone. Little by little, the humans were losing. Greenery was winning, slowly but steadily. Mother Nature was hell-bent on revenge.
This post was written in response to the Friday Fictioneers photo prompt hosted by the lovely Rochelle. The challenge is to write a complete story – beginning, middle and end in 100 words or less, based on the given photo prompt. A huge thanks to Rochelle for hosting this challenge.
