Donate, if you can. Every Rupee Counts!

It’s day 7 of the #lockdown in India, announced rather hastily in the wake of the coronavirus. The public has divided opinion about the lockdown, but I, for one, am all for it. In a country like India, if the virus is given free rein and provided with all the opportunity to spread, the result would be nothing short of catastrophic. So, lockdown is the best solution at the moment.

But the lockdown will be a struggle for daily wage labourers and many others who live from paycheck to paycheck, will suddenly find themselves without an income to sustain themselves. Hopefully, many of the incentives and schemes announced by the Government will help ease their burden. I have contributed to the PM CARES Fund (Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund). And to quote PM Modi himself, “There’s nothing big or little. Every single contribution matters. It shows our collective resolve to defeat COVID-19.” Every rupee counts. Just in case you are wondering, the official UPI ID is PMCARES@SBI. Click here for more details. (Beware of fraudsters! If you are making a donation, double-check that the UPI ID is correct.)

This post is not sponsored in any way. I just wanted to do my best to help spread the word. Donate, if you can. It may be a small amount to you. But even a little goes a long way in the grand scheme of things. 🙂

If something resonated with you, do let me know. Do let me know if you have a different opinion too. Conversations matter.

Stay safe. Take care.

  1. I feel for the people in your country. Hopefully this will save lives and won’t do more harm than good. Who knows what is the right thing to do? Life has no rehearsals, we do our best… only time will tell. Thanks for posting this, everyone should be aware of what’s going on.

    1. It is the only thing that can help limit the spread of Corona. With India’s population and the high density, we’ll have a catastrophe on our hands otherwise. Lockdown is for the better good. Hopefully, it’ll come to an end soon.

    1. For daily wage labourers and many others, it’s a question of survival. They may not be educated enough to understand the gravity of the situation. Thank you for reading. Stay safe. Take care.
