Queue
(noun)
A commonly accepted method of waiting your turn and almost always the queue you are a part of will move slower than the others, and this holds true even if you change to a seemingly faster-moving queue!
This always happens to me. Even if I shift to another queue (even after careful calculation), mine will be the slowest. And what’s worse, the queue I abandoned seems to move faster! It’s really frustrating. Don’t even get me started about people who try to jump the queue only because they are far too impatient!

This is day #27 of the lockdown here in India. Hope you and your family are safe and well. Stay safe. Take care.

It’s also called “the law of the other line”;
The other line moves faster than yours!
Lol😂😂😂

Haha. It is very true indeed. I like that term – law of the other line! Thanks for dropping by, Sadje. 🙂

You’re welcome. It’s a part of Murphy’s law. 😂😂😂

It has to be. No surprises there! 😂 How’s the situation over there?

We are staying indoors and things are getting better gradually. How are things in your part of the world?

It’s the same here. We will be under lockdown till May 3rd. Depending on the scenario, certain selected businesses will be permitted to open from tomorrow onwards. But the majority of the people will be asked to remain indoors. Hopefully, we’ll be able to flatten the curve. The situation is gradually improving in my city. However, it’s very grim in a few parts of my country.

It isn’t mine. I read about it in the good old days on Readers Digest. It was a hilarious article.

I was about of mention Murphy’s Law. 😀 (law of other line – not the exact words though which I had in mind, that was a learning for me).
We do have priority queues. 😀

Haha I had meant to include that word in this post but I forgot! 😂 Priority queue or not, mine’s almost always the slowest. 😅 Thanks a lot for reading. 😄

Surely I follow you in queues. I’m just wrong each choice. Not as frustrating as driving in blocked lanes, however.

Oh driving in blocked lanes can be a nightmares, especially so when the driver in front of you is a jackass. Thanks for reading. Hope you are safe and well. 🙂

Hahaha. If it hasn’t happened to anyone, they are either lying or just freaking privileged.
Did you know that according to a survey BBC conducted, there is only a 25%chance of selecting the line wisely and frankly who even thinks much, they might just join the shorter line.
Interesting post, Shweta. Happy A2Zing 🙂

True. I wonder about the percentage of people who end up making that 25% choice always! I’m not surprised really about that survey results. I suck at making those choices! Thank you so much for reading. 🙂

I don’t think that 25% of people exist. Haha

So that’s it. 25% have cheated and lied on that survey! 🙂

Haha. This is especially true when driving and you join a seemingly shorter lane at a signal or toll booth, but end up moving the last. Your definitions are on point! 😉

Every single time! Thank you so much, Dashy. I’m so glad to hear that. 🙂

Queue was one of the prompts I had shortlisted for today -but cudnt build it up well- with my City connect theme. The other queue moving faster than ours always happens at the ticket counters- be it railway tickets or movie tickets. E Ticketing has made this a nostalgia now.

E-ticketing has definitely made things easier. But by a lucky twist of fate, I’m the one who has a higher chance of getting confirmed Tatkal tickets. 😀
I like your choice of theme for this A2Z. I have given you a suggestion for animal names starting with Q. 🙂
Thank you so much for reading.

This always happens when I am a toll plaza and don`t have an E-Pass..for some strange reason the days I have E-pass the lanes are empty!

It’s Murphy’s law at its finest. But the FASTag must have changed things a bit, right? I’m not that familiar with the concept. So kindly excuse me if I’m grossly mistaken!
