#AtoZChallenge One-liner: T is for Touchscreen

Touchscreen

(noun)

A fragile manmade contraption that can take a while to respond when you are in a hurry but responds to your slightest touch when you don’t want it to and can give you a heart-break if your tempered glass protector isn’t strong enough!

That can lead to really embarrassing moments at times! As for a broken touchscreen, it can and will cost you an insane amount of money.

A few months back, I slipped and fell face-first on a broken stretch of the road. My mobile fell along with me and had its screen broken in places. My knees and palms took most of the impact. Yet, what affected me the most was my broken screen! 🤦 It bothered me so much that I went and got the screen replaced! It cost a fortune but it was worth every penny. 😌

Oh, and, I’ve written about my relationship with my phone here and here (this was a part of #AtoZChallenge2017). Click here to know a clever game that helps reduce your smartphone addiction by planting trees (virtual and real)!

Have you ever found yourself in such a situation?

Yesterday was World Earth Day. How did you observe it? I wrote a poem: Earth to humans. Do you copy?

  1. O, there have been plenty of instances when I have mistakenly tapped on a wrong icon and the screen took me somewhere else. I have also called wrong persons because again my finger touched the wrong person’s name. Many years ago, when the touchscreen came, I wasn’t very confident that it would work. I always used to wonder what would I do, if the screen didn’t respond to my touch when I need it the most.

  2. I hate phones with broken screens and poor touch scrrens. To avoid that I have that old fashioned notebook type cover on my phone. My sisters and friends make fun of my cover, but I am cool with it and as a result my phone is as good as new!

  3. My phone needs a password or fingerprints to start, and I just hate it! Even if I recorded properly every single fingerprint of my index, this silly thing never comes to identify me quickly. I have to do it 3 or 4 times before it says ok…

  4. I shied away from getting a touchscreen for years. I wanted to stay with my Nokia, the old sturdy model but modern times…I wish I was born some fifty years back!

  5. Our phone is so dear to us.
Few months ago, my phone wasn’t having a single scratch.i I take care of it so much But one day, I was at a friend’s place. I saw his phone having a big scratch and I gave him a big lecture if carelessness.
After an hour, I dropped my phone on his laptop charger. And boom… I got the scratch on my phone.😭

    1. Uh oh. Life can be so unfair at times. Take care of it. Now more than ever!
I didn’t have a single scratch but I managed to fall flat on my face on a broken part of the road and my phone suffered. I had to get my entire screen replaced!
