The beach was a sight to behold.
There was not a speck of trash to be seen.
The trash seemed to have disappeared along with the humans.

And isn’t that the truth. Humans manufacture trash e wherever they go.

I’m sad and glad at the same time to know that we’re in agreement. I hope that we’ll learn to treat nature and our environment with more love and respect when this ordeal is over!

I like the scene you’ve “displayed” for us.
I’ve been hearing that writers should avoid “to be” variations (there is, there are, it was) as they are “telling.” So here’s my “to be-less” version of your scene. Hope you don’t mind.
An inviting beach of sparkling, wave-rippled sand stretched along the shore.
Not one beer can or pop bottle, not one left-behind flip-flop, not one chip bag fluttered or cluttered the scene.
When humans disappeared; the trash went with them.

Ohh that’s beautiful! Yes, I’ve been guilty of telling instead of showing. That’s a great take on the prompt. Do link up with the original prompt. Thank you so much for your constructive criticism. ♥️😄

Sorry, I guess I should have done that and posted this on my own blog, with the proper link. glad you liked it, though. One writing guru rejects all use of “to be” forms, which I think is a bit extreme, but I’ve learned lots from seeing his edits.
One day I checked another great writer’s book and found only TWO “It is..” in four pages!

That’s alright. But I’m so glad that you posted it here. To each, their own! But too much of anything can be too extreme, isn’t it? But the gurus have written and experienced much more than us. We’ll have to take a few pages out of their books. But we have a lot to figure out ourselves too! I’m glad that I was able to introduce you to this challenge. 😃
