Deep in the confines of my heart
There is a locked vault
It’s well guarded
By walls so high
That not many would dare to climb
Love is a fickle thing
And my heart is too fragile
It has been broken
And pieced back together many times
Only to be broken all over again
And so I have locked it away
Only the most deserving ones,
Can ever gain entry
The ones who don’t give up,
But instead, care to and dare to
Climb the unending rows of walls
The ones who won’t
Shatter my heart all over again
Author’s Note:
The poem is a work of fiction. While I’m glad that it’s not my story, unfortunately, it may be a reality for many. 💔
This poem was written in response to Sue Vincent’s Thursday photo prompt – the #writephoto prompt. The challenge is to use the given photo prompt as an inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose, as long as it is fairly family-friendly. Thank you, Sue for hosting this challenge. Click on the link to know more about this challenge and to read the entries by my fellow bloggers.

Not really. Not that part. Dealing with people can be exhausting. You should know. You’re in charge of hiring and firing!
Hey, why don’t you write about that?

I’m not. Hey! I have an idea. Write a post about how to deal with difficult people. It’ll be a real lifesaver for people like me.

I don’t deal with difficult people.
I had heated arguments with hard people, I’m not that good. My advice? Stay away from them. 🤣🤣🤣

I connected to it. Because I personally am like that who doesn’t let anyone invade my space. Not everyone is bound to know what’s there inside. I built walls tall around me.
I connected and I liked it!
Good job Shweta!

The person to climb the wall and jump to the other side should be rewarded. Coz it ain’t easy.

Yes, they will be rewarded indeed. Thank you for reading, Harsh. 🙂

Someone might. If they feel you are worth fighting for! And if and when they do that, you’ll know that you’ve got someone for life. They’ll stay with you through thick and thin, come hell or high water. And such people are very hard to come by.
