short story #21: Covert operations

To a human eye, it might have seemed as if the two bald eagles were comparing notes on how to catch elusive fat rats. Perched on the highest tree that they could find, they surveyed the humans as keenly as they could.
When the dogs and cats had refused to spy on the humans, Agents E and C had recruited the eagles for their surveillance wing. Both the agents were in for a disappointment. Despite the global attack that had been unleashed by Agent C, the humans seemed unfazed. After a month of inactivity, the humans had gone back to their lives as usual. Agent C’s attack had brought Agent E some time to recover and recoup from her injuries. But the way things were going, they were going to have to come up with a better plan.

Author’s Note:

Any guesses as to the identities of Agents E and C???

P.S: This story may seem like a half-baked one since I made the decision to publish my first draft without major editing. The migraine still hasn’t released me from its clutches. 😪 Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day. I’m calling it a day and hitting the bed early today.

      1. I’ve written a post along the same line before. This was the first idea that popped into my head when I saw the prompt. Since my migraine didn’t allow me to have a lot of screen time, I decided to run with my first draft 😃

      2. It was a poem. It was published a while back. Let me see if I can find a link. In that too, I had alluded that Agents C and E were working together. But no, I had not referred to them by those names.
        Here’s the link.

And yes, Anisha, I’m feeling much better. Thank you for asking. 😀

  2. You are so creatively talented! Wonderful twist to C & E. Hope your migraine has gotten better. I suffer from them too. Mostly ice-pick headaches and seeing flashing stars in red, white and blue. I have had MRI’s and a MRA and there is a spot on my brain that they can’t explain, but it is not a tumor. I may have had a mini stroke a couple of years ago. I’m fine & wonderful most days and I hope you are feeling better from it!

    1. Thank you so much, Lisa. That’s so kind of you. Yes, it goes off after 2 days. I’ve had a CT scan done and everything seemed to be fine. I’m glad that the spot wasn’t a tumour. I’m glad that you are fine. Take care, Lisa. Sorry for my late response 😬
