tiny tale #80: Messy kitchen diaries

Anna measured out all the ingredients in her vast kitchen. She didn’t bother checking the recipe. She was fairly certain she could pull it off. This was not the first time she had baked a chocolate cake.
An hour later, the cake was in the oven. Her sink was overflowing with measuring cups, flour sifter, broken eggshells, and more. Her kitchen was a complete mess but it would be worth it. The cake in the oven filled her apartment with a heavenly aroma.
But that was when she remembered – she had forgotten to add baking powder to the batter!

Have you had a similar experience? I have been there and done this. 😀 Halfway into the baking time, I remembered that I had forgotten to add the baking powder. Needless to say, that was one horrible cake. I have been very careful ever since! Join in and let me know about all your cooking adventures. The comments section is all yours. 🙂

      1. I’m more a clean freak than a neat one. Last week my doc put me on a week of antibiotics. I think I messed up somewhere. Oops. 🙂

      1. Yes, it was supposed to be a yummy falooda, it turned out to be a sugar free falooda ( health conscious , Lol). I have never tried my hand at baking until now, but from the recipes I’ve read, forgetting to add baking soda, wouldn’t have yielded a fluffy cake, am I correct?

      2. Haha. That must have been the healthiest falooda ever! 😉
Oh no, it was an absolute disaster. The cake collapsed on itself and I had to throw most of it away. Ever since then, I measure and keep ingredients and double check them to ensure that I haven’t missed out anything!
