tiny tale #80: Messy kitchen diaries

Anna measured out all the ingredients in her vast kitchen. She didn’t bother checking the recipe. She was fairly certain she could pull it off. This was not the first time she had baked a chocolate cake.
An hour later, the cake was in the oven. Her sink was overflowing with measuring cups, flour sifter, broken eggshells, and more. Her kitchen was a complete mess but it would be worth it. The cake in the oven filled her apartment with a heavenly aroma.
But that was when she remembered – she had forgotten to add baking powder to the batter!

Have you had a similar experience? I have been there and done this. ๐Ÿ˜€ Halfway into the baking time, I remembered that I had forgotten to add the baking powder. Needless to say, that was one horrible cake. I have been very careful ever since! Join in and let me know about all your cooking adventures. The comments section is all yours. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I used to be like that too. But when I moved to a different city, I slowly started learning my way around the kitchen. Now, I have reached a stage where I can cook a decent meal.
Oh yes, baking powder means a lot when it comes to cakes ๐Ÿ˜‚ Trust me when I say that! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. I do that. But after a couple of successful tries, I get overconfident and let it go to my head ๐Ÿ˜‚
That’s when such accidents happen. When it comes to baking, measurement and procedure matters a lot. And sticking to the recipe!

  2. I have made a carrot cake with no carrots!! They were shredded in a bowl on the counter. Thankfully the cake had not been in that long and I mixed them in! Turned out rather decently, surprisingly!
