Oh magnificent creator Of the seven seas, sky and land, The Sun, Moon, Earth, Galaxies and organisms, Deserts and forests, I bow before you I am but a tiny part Of your wonderful creations Guide me when I am lost Save me when I am drowning, In the ocean of life Enlighten my mind, When I seek for knowledge Brighten my world When darkness is all that I can see Be my air When it seems so hard to breathe Inspire me when I am feeling down Encourage me when I am disheartened Empower me when I feel weak Console me when I am heartbroken Calm me down when I am furious Be my eyes and ears When I am caught unawares By the many perils of life Fill me with kindness, love, sympathy, Generosity, faith, and empathy Days may come and go, My days might be, Long and short, happy and sad, Happy and tragic, light and dark, But my faith in you Will only grow stronger With each passing day Guide me, Supreme Being, Take me under your wings And help me, mould me Into a better version of myself
This poem was written in response to Sadje’s What Do You See prompt #37. Thank you Sadje for hosting this challenge. The challenge is to use the picture prompt as inspiration to compose an original story, poem, or a caption.
