Food for Thought #3: Life – not an easy journey!

Until you turn 18, you dream of the moment when you will finally become an adult. You’ll find yourself looking forward to that moment when people will stop treating you like a child. At last, you can have a bank account in your own name, get a driving license and so much more. The possibilities seem endless and the sheer thought of those may make one feel that their 18th birthday is going to be magical. But as there is nothing magical about it. There are too many things that you probably take for granted when you are a child. You truly realize their value when you are an adult, struggling to find your own place in the world – the big, bad world that everybody had warned you about a million times. Life suddenly becomes your one-word explanation for all the unfair things that happen to you.

Not all days are bad. There are happy days, the good days, the awesome days.. ones that make you glad that you are not a child anymore. But for each one of those glorious days, there will be days in our lives that make us wish that life had an undo button too. It can even be a series of long days, one after the other, that can make us sigh deeply about the fact that time travelling is still a thing of fiction.

But that’s life for you. It’s like the waves in the sea. You have ups and downs. The ups can be exhilarating and similarly, the downs can take you for a nosedive. You will have good days and bad days, adventures and miseries. It’s a rollercoaster ride of struggles, obstacles, moments, happiness, sadness, and much more. But somedays, it can make you wish for an undo button. Very badly.

But unfortunately, we only live once. The present is where we have the power to actually do something. Here’s to making the most of it!

  1. It is human nature to be unhappy in the now. Most of hanker for a time either in the past or in future. But as you said, now is when we can act and do something. Use the now and be content with today.

    1. Yes. It’s easily said than done. But present is the only time when we can act. Past is dead and gone and future is yet to come. As someone has said, maybe that’s why they call it the “present”. Thank you for reading, dear ♥️🤗

  2. That’s life, with all the emotions, carrying equal importance, we are humans and we do feel
As we grow, our views changes, our perspective of thinking about things changes as we learn and observe
Future depends on present and for a better future, we most of the times ruin our present, I myself do this sometimes, doing a lot of procrastination
    Nice post, Shweta 💙

  3. Lovely and beautifully said, Shweta. But dear we all live in a world of Illusion and that is why we all have to go thru good and bad in life like a roller coaster. That is life some days go very well and some days go not so good. Part and parcel of life until one day this body has to die and move on.
