Tick tock, Tick tock, Time doesn't wait for anyone Nor does it rewind And offer us a chance To re-live our favourite moments Time is its own boss The master of almost everything! The scariest of alarms The healer of the deepest of wounds One who can erase Even the ugliest of memories From our minds and hearts Tick tock, tick tock Moves the hands of the clock They keep moving Without even the briefest of breaks Effortlessly and unapologetically Without a care in the world Indifferent to the ones struggling To catch up With the gruelling pace But time isn't always fast And it plays many tricks On unsuspecting humans Occasionally, Time moves slowly Even the slowest of snails Would be beaten As Time creeps along Extremely, painfully slow Especially when you want it to run Boring lectures, countdowns Trigger the slower phases Excitement, enjoyment, and fun Trigger the faster phases When Time runs exceedingly fast Especially because you want more time Though you'd give anything For the time to not run out Or run past you In the blink of an eye It will never slow down When you wish Time would run faster It drags on, And on and on, Time does the exact opposite Of what we could wish for But there's nothing we can do Time cannot be tamed. Each day brings a fresh 86400 seconds But some feel longer And some feel short Time seems to be bewitched at times It seems likely That we are all under its spell, Unable to challenge Time, Its peculiar ways and tricks And so we resort to following it Blindly, unquestioningly Suppressing our doubts As soon as they arise In our minds
Dear readers, these days, I am not getting the time to respond to most of your thoughtful comments. Abd, that was what inspired me to come up with this poem. I am trying my best, but clearly “Time” is winning the battle. But I will respond to your comments.. eventually. Please bear with me until then!

I couldn’t decide if this year is moving fast or slow ! With increase work load it’s moving real fast , but thinking of staying home isolated , it’s moving very very slow 😟
Nice poem from your end , trying catching up with time 😊👍well written

It’s confusing and frustrating. I’ve been going to work since May and time is running at the speed of light. Thanks a lot, HS. ❤️

How was yours??

Whoa. That’s nice. I was held up at office today. It wasn’t a great day. Lockdown starts from tomorrow but we’re exempted. That makes it really difficult to buy stuff and all. Life’s becoming increasingly difficult.

Love the poem Shweta. At this point in time I keep wishing I could turn the clock back to the slower pace of my own younger days, but as the poem said, it can’t be done. All the things I would do differently if only****, still knowing I would probably still make the same mistakes over again. Lately it is speeding by like a bullet released from a pistol, toward an unknown target somewhere in the future. It never slows down any longer as it did when I was young, just keeps on going and going forward. And I wouldn’t want it any other way except for the moments I wish I had a time machine that could take me back for a day, any day when life was slow and easy.
Now it’s time for me to get up and do something meaningful with an hour of my day. I hope you have a good one. Hugs, Angela

It’s hard to reply to comments, write posts and read other blogs. So I’m guessing that it’ll take a while.
You’re totally welcome to escalate it 😍😘
