SoCS – Link

It’s great to be a social butterfly and develop and maintain links with a lot of people. But in the current situation, it is not only irresponsible but it is downright dangerous to have unwanted physical interaction with people. The strongest villain of our times doesn’t discriminate, and it will spread like wildfire, infecting everyone it possibly can, fuelled by the absence of social distancing. You don’t want to be linked to a lot of contacts when the result turns positive. Being positive is great.. that is.. unless you happen to be corona positive! In that case, everyone will wish to be negative. Finally, we have found ourselves in a situation where “negative” is much preferred and in-demand than “positive”! Who would have ever thought that would come to be?!

That being said, and like to take the opportunity to appreciate and thank all the wonderful volunteers and essential service personnel who are busy tracing the contacts of all the positive cases. Every link counts, and each missing link could be and will be a recipe for disaster if they are not found in time and quarantined! You might be wondering – Why am I so fixated on this virus and its potential consequences? It’s a difficult feeling to shake off.
Okay! Enough of that. Let’s focus on the sort-of bright things in life at the moment. Deep breaths. Here we go,
Inhale… Exhale.
Rinse, wash, and repeat till your heart doesn’t feel like it’s about to burst through your ribcage.
Hyperlinks are kind of links at the moment. Every link holds a brand-new possibility.. a new post to entertain us and touch our hearts. If it were not for links, we’d never be able to share our work or respond to prompts. Without links, the blogosphere would cease to exist and we would all be lost. We would be like lost logs drifting in a river that’s rushing to deposit its debris. That’s it for today, folks. Let me try to find the link to this link-up so that I can link my post before the deadline is over!

Stay safe, take care. I hope you and yours are safe and well, and that you continue to be so!

Written in response to today’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt from Linda G. Hill. The challenge was to “Start your post with the word ‘link’ and write whatever comes to you. To read the other entries, please click on the link.

Prevention is ALWAYS better than cure. But at the rate at which corona virus is spreading, only a cure or a vaccine can help us go back to our old ways. Do you miss the good, old days too? 1. Clarification: No! Then I’ll test positive. My mind is obsessed with it to an extent. It’s hard, not to, especially with the news that’s making the headlines. And I’m not one of those lucky people who can work from home. So brain/mind is okay but not body!

  1. I just had a discussion on phone, with a close relative, about my stand on avoiding unnecessary interactions. Though the lockdown rules are not very strict, I still think it’s one’s responsibility to do whatever possible, to avoid the spread of the virus. And in this post, you spoke my heart out ❤️I wish I could send this “link” for her to read 😀
Nice take on bringing in many links 😊

    1. So many people fail to grasp the importance of social distancing. They think it’s some kind of a joke. There are so many covidiots around us.. everywhere we go! You are very free to shrink my work.
Thank you so much for reading ❤️🤗

  2. You are so right- although I feel like social interactions are necessary for humans I think we should all try to reduce them as possible just for the time being till things get better.
