Food for Thought #4: When one door closes…

They say that when one door closes, another opens.

But does it.. really?

Often we might ourselves trapped when one door closes and another one doesn’t open. Maybe, we should check if any of the windows are open instead. Life can be unpredictable and challenging like that. Or, maybe we should even think about smashing windows open so that we have a way out. That’s what they call “out of the box” thinking, I suppose. Also, being stuck somewhere is not the best feeling in the world. Unless you are quarantined and have been advised not to step outside. In that case, it’s better to leave things the way they are. In the current scenario, it’s better to stay at home if it’s possible. That’s the only place where safety can be guaranteed (unless you are in contact with a person who tested positive!)

If something resonated with you, do let me know. Do let me know if you have a different opinion too. Conversations matter. Especially now, in the age of social distancing.

This post was inspired by Lynn’s Tuesday Picture Prompt – Week 6. The challenge is to write about the emotions or feelings that were evoked or aroused by the photograph taken by Lynn. Thank you, Lynn for hosting this prompt/challenge.

  1. “Or, maybe we should even think about smashing windows open so that we have a way out.”… i like this one Shweta..sometimes this is what we need..we dont always have to wait for open doors or windows…we need to find our way out even if it would mean, yes smashing a window..and of course we speak here figuratively
    ….push our way..find a better way…innovate…create…

    1. I was also speaking figuratively. Just because the conventional way is closed doesn’t mean we have to be trapped. We can always find a way. I’m glad that you were able to understand my point of view. Thank you, Mich 😃

  2. There’s always an open door, or at least a window, available in our minds, hearts and/or spirits. We just need to sit still and LOOK 🙂 ❤

  3. Shweta all I will say that when one door opens it has been my experience that another door does open, perhaps not right away but in the perfect time. Due to the one sided beast of conversation these days regarding current events, I keep my thoughts to myself, especially on social media. xo

      1. You do for you, Shweta. Never mind what others say or do. Distance yourself from the dissonance that is everywhere and get deep into your Heart. There you will be led to find those doors and how to change your life. I am doing that very thing right this very moment. You must be ready to choose Spirit over man. And then your life will open up for you!! xo

      2. I am trying to do that, Amy. I know it’s a struggle at first but I know that I’m come out of this stronger than before. Thank you so much for your advice. Stay safe. Take care 💓

      3. I agree. It is a struggle until we choose to walk away from the mayhem in order to exist in a calm and loving world, one of your making. I know what I went through and so I encourage you to get to a place where you absolutely know without doubt how to separate yourself from the nightmare that is upon this earth. xo

  4. Hmm, what do we do indeed if there’s no other door open? How do we make sure there are other doors still around? Scary situation. Interesting take, Shweta.

    1. I’ve been going to office. And on my way back, I buy the essential items. It’s a bit of a long walk for me since I’m not using public transport. But at least, I can go out even though I hope that I don’t fall prey to the virus. A pair of wings would be lovely, right?
