While humans might be the same intrinsically (I mean, composed of flesh and bones), they can be worlds apart from when it comes to character.
Some people are like gooseberries. They might seem bitter at first, but the more you get to know them, the sweeter they become.
Some people are like steaming mugs of freshly brewed coffee/tea. They might seem warm and inviting, but you might end up sustaining burns if you aren’t too careful.
Some are like the stars in the dark night sky. They shine and twinkle but they will never be quite within our reach.
Some people are like chocolate; nearly impossible to resist, and more often than not, they lift our moods even when we are at our lowest. Such people leave footprints of happiness wherever they go.
Some people are like the annoying wad of chewing gum that got stuck to your hand by accident. Even though you desperately try to shake them off, they cling on stubbornly. Such people cause happiness whenever they go.
Some are refreshing and welcome as an oasis in the middle of a desert. They can be like a glass of water that your parched throat has been craving for so long.
Some can be like oil to your smouldering flame of rage. They can make your blood boil, and make the nerves in your temple feel as if they are about to burst at the slightest provocation.
Author’s Note:
This is just a random musing. My brain has decided to take a break from flash fiction and indulge in a few rambling posts instead. I hope you will like this one. Stay tuned for part two. It will be published tomorrow at exactly 12AM IST. π

Very creative writing, Shweta! You outdid yourself with this! Your post is all about the “differences” in people and how we ALL need to be aware of those differences. I’m “attracted” to certain types of people which should hold true for everyone. With awareness we are cognizant of who is who. (smile) Really LOVED this!! xo

Really good one.
I liked the way you picked up the virtues of different things to match with people. And they all seemed so apt and relatable.
