Tabitha was a fairy too, in her own right. Tabitha was the fairy godchild of Cinderella’s fairy godmother. Tabitha was the most mischievous and unpleasant of little fairies in all of the fairyland. But her fairy godmother was too sweet to hold it against Tabitha!
Ever since Cinderella married her prince and became a Princess, she never had much time for her fairy godmother anymore. Though the fairy godmother was hurt, she let it slide. But not Tabitha! Oh no, she absolutely hated Cinderella and all of her race for that grave mistake.
That one act had turned Tabitha against the humans. The senior fairies had tried desperately to turn Tabitha into a goody-two-shoes fairy but to no avail.
Many cute human babies were assigned to the protection of Tabitha. Tabitha turned out to be the worst of fairy godmothers. She took great pleasure in annoying and taunting her charges until they wailed incessantly.
Eventually, Cinderella managed to find time for her fairy godmother and mended their broken bond. But this new attitude did nothing to change Tabitha’s attitude towards humans. She continued being as unpleasant as she possibly could. She excelled at it and with each passing day, she became more and more unpleasant.
Tired of complaints regarding Tabitha, the only unpleasant fairy in her entire fairydom, the Queen Fairy decided to interfere. She summoned Tabitha and granted her with an unending supply of fairy dust. She tricked Tabitha into believing that throwing fairy dust at humans would help her exact revenge.
Delighted to have a “weapon” at her disposal, Tabitha went about scattering fairy dust at any and every human that she could find. Unknown to her, the humans that she “attacked” with fairy dust experienced much joy and luck. Tabitha’s ignorance kept her blissfully happy in the belief that she was exacting revenge. The Queen Fairy’s fairydom became more peaceful. All was well, and it will remain so.
So if you happen to run into Tabitha viciously aiming her fairy dust at an unsuspecting human, don’t let the cat out of the bag! 😉
When I started this story, I had no idea how to end it! But as I started writing, the ending gradually took shape. This story almost went a different way.
Also, let me know if you want to set up an appointment with Tabitha. 😉 😀
