There are none so blind as those who will not see,
None so dead as those who will not hear,
None so cowardly as those who are silent spectators.
There’s no injustice greater than when the ones in power misuse it,
No shame greater than blaming the victim and protecting the criminals.
This is what the world has come to.
Justice is seldom served at the right time,
Nobility, kindness, and generosity are all but forgotten.
Will there be a change for the better?
Will there be an end to all the terrible injustices?
Life can be extremely unfair.
The world, too.
The thin ray of hope seems to flicker at times.
Let’s try to keep the flames of hope burning;
Brighter and stronger with each passing day,
In spite of all that’s threatening to sniff it out!
Let’s be the growing exceptions,
In a world that’s slowly turning more evil!
Let’s do our best to ensure that everything isn’t lost.
Let’s keep fighting…
Even when it seems as if all is lost!
Let’s hope and strive to be better tomorrow!
Author’s Note:
This was something that I fished out of my draft folder today. I had started this post many years ago but I just couldn’t complete it until now.Ā

Iām kind of following Sushant Singh Rajput.. somehow placed these lines to that case!
Well penned Shweta .. drafts come to rescue some times .. when I just cannot think of a topic!

Oh. Now that I think about that and read it, it does seem related but that wasn’t what was on my mind. I don’t know what made me start this post but it must have been some injustice that ate away at my mind. Oh yes, drafts come to my rescue when I’m running out of time and ideas!
And I’m so glad that I was able to complete this one and make it see the light of the day! Thank you, HS š

I love the hint from the Biblical quote Jeremiah 5:21 here are none so blind as those who will not see,
None so dead as those who will not hear. So true today especially!

Justice is seldom served at the right time, very true. People turn deaf, dumb and blind so easily when truth is just in front of their eyes. Just wish all these scenarios just change soon at least in the next generation.

It’s seldom served and much less at the right time. In today’s world, it’s too much to ask for, or even expect! I hope that it changes for the better too. Thanks for reading, Reshmi š

This is an amazing post. Good that you decided to post ot Shweta. Actually the times in which we are living, justice is like luxury and it never served on time.

Shweta, You found the draft when it was needed most. Your poem is so timely in these dark days! In the US, haters in high places have emboldened those who are unbalanced, misogynistic, violent…to act on their malicious intentions. I think there are similar problems in other places. Thank you for posting this at just the right moment. š
Enjoy your weekend! Cheryl ā¤

These problems are universal. There will always be some people who tend to amplify the darkness and evil within them. I’m glad that you loved this poem. Thank you so much, Cheryl
