Many bloggers are very much confused when it comes to pingbacks. So I thought I will help them out by making a tutorial of sorts. Watch the video to see 2 easy ways to add pingbacks. 🙂
This is my first video and clearly, I am an amateur. I am a storyteller who will probably never make it in YouTube. So please put up with the flaws. 😉

Thanks for sharing that video. Btw, I can’t seem to comment on your six word story prompt for this week

That post got published early by accident. I had to reschedule it. The post will be up only by 8PM IST today. You’ll be able to comment after that.

Gotcha! Thanks! I’m on PST so I get the time difference thing! #expatproblems

I’m glad that you were able to figure out out. 😊
I always schedule my prompt posts in advance and they are always published on Saturdays at 8PM IST. Unfortunately, while scheduling the post yesterday, I accidentally ending up publishing it. It took me a while to realise my mistake and I rescheduled it immediately. But I guess the notification had already gone out. 😅

I got the notification too ☺️

Oops. That was one major mistake. I still don’t know how it happened 😂

I actually have been getting notifications of posts from you and then it tells me I’m not authorized to view it
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh! Multiple notifications??? When did this happen. I have not restricted any post. So I don’t know why WordPress is telling you that you’re not authorised!

No. I only get one notification about the post and then it will tell me I’m not authorized to view it

No, I was asking if this has happened multiple times? When you get a notification and it will tell you that you’re not authorised. Has it happened more than once?

Yes. It has

Oh. I really don’t know why that has happened. When I accidentally publish a post and revert it back to a draft, this might happen. But other than that, I have no idea why it might happen. 🙆🏻♀️

It’s definitely strange

Yes! Very much so. WordPress has a tendency to act up at times but this is the first time I’ve faced such an issue

Well, I thought you ought to know in case anyone else has brought it up

Thank you for bringing it up. I have to look into it. I wasn’t aware of such an issue before today. Nobody has brought it up!

Thanks. This is a keeper. But I have to admit I was hoping to hear your lovely voice.

Oh, Lauren. That’s such a sweet thing to say ☺️🥰
I really wanted to do the voiceover but I was running short of time as I wanted to publish this before this week’s 6WSP prompt. And I couldn’t find a software to record both video and audio in time. But now that Pooja has given a lovely recommendation, you can expect videos with voiceovers.

Pretty much works the same way in the good old classic editor.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Yes. It’s almost same. But I don’t know if the copy and paste thing works in the classic editor. I haven’t tried that one.

It may not. I haven’t tried that method.

Oh, are you still using classic editor? Maybe I’ll do one for that too 🙂

I am. But since I blog solely from my phone app, I have managed to keep n the same format and editor that I was using previously. Thanks 😍

Oh that’s great. I’ll be posting the mobile version tutorial too. I rarely use the phone app to compose and publish posts. I feel laptop version is much easier.

I feel the exact opposite. I have my phone with me at all times and can read and write from anywhere. Thanks
LikeLiked by 1 person
I read and comment from my phone but when it comes to writing, I go running in search of my laptop 😄
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think that’s a as good policy. But I’m too lazy to start my laptop. Besides I like writing in a flow and on the laptop you’ve too stop repeatedly to format your sentences and paragraphs. Phone is smart! Lol

Haha. That’s true but I mostly fix my mistakes as I go. Otherwise, my flow gets affected. So it works out perfectly for me 🤣
Ever since the block editor became the norm, I’ve stopped writing using the app.

You’re young and willing to learn working on the block editor. I don’t want to go through the pain of learning it now!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I learnt it because I thought they were going to terminate the classic editor. And I didn’t want to stop writing because I couldn’t handle an editor. So I learnt as I worked my way through posts 😄

Haha. Thank you, HS. I should have done the video back then. But I was still figuring out how to grab my screen video. I still haven’t figured it out completely. I couldn’t add my voiceover. I’m happy to help you out. You will learn with time too. I’ve been using wordpress for well over five years 😁

I’m not too sure but I think if you use an editing app like FilmoraGo you can probably do a voiceover as well.

Me too! So many were asking me and I finally decided to do something about it because I couldn’t find any other resource that explained it well enough. Thank you, Pooja. Do spread the word.

I have a question
We can’t create pingbacks in phones? We need the laptop?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hey, Nehal. Sure, we can create pingbacks from phone too. The method is the same. You just have to find the link icon. I always find the laptop to be more convenient and that’s why I did a video on that.

But since you asked, Nehal, I’ll be publishing the mobile version tutorial soon. Stay tuned.
