Aditi sighed as she stared at the huge bundle of toys that fell out from the cupboard as soon as she opened it.
There were enough toys to fill a toystore, and then some, courtesy of family and friends, but sadly she couldn’t just convince them that smothering her little son with toys wasn’t going to bring back his father.
She knew that they pitied her but she didn’t want that for she was the proud wife of a martyr – a son of the country who had laid down his life for the sake of his motherland.

Author’s Note:
Ouch. I know, that was a sad one but I just went where the prompt led me. And it turned out to be tragic but hey, then again, light can be found even in the darkest of times.
I have pushed the 6WSP roundup post for tomorrow. I am still on the way to recovery and it seems like a long one. After the fever, sinusitis has dug its claws into me. 😦
For the visually challenged readers, the image shows a screenful of toys thrown about haphazardly. There are different types of small toy figures in different shapes and colours.
Stay safe, everyone.

Like you mentioned, it is sad. But writing a whole story in 3 lines sounds a very challenging idea! You have done it very well. Also, you might want to look at this part “proud life of a martyr” in the story.

a story with 3 lines can have such a great impact. I loved it and it is indeed sad but still loved the courage in the martyr’s wife.

It is sad but while the mother is sad about the circumstance, I even saw a proud wife of a soldier in the story.Wonderfully written in a few words.
