Chasing sunrises – a tiny tale

Taking a walk along the beach, with his faithful dog Bosco by his side had been one of his favourite pastimes. Together, they would watch as the rays of sunlight chased the darkness and spread throughout. Even after his master’s untimely death, Bosco kept their tradition alive.

This tiny tale was written in response to the May 26th #1MinFiction Challenge hosted by Cyranny. The challenge is to write a very short story based on the picture prompt. The idea is to manage to type your whole story in a minute or less. Of course, you can think about it before hitting the keyboard, and you can take all your time to edit it afterward. Thank you for hosting this challenge, Cyranny.

I almost went another way with this prompt but that plot sounded a little too similar to those of my tiny tales Finding Forever and Forever.

Dogs are the most loyal and faithful pets. I would choose dogs over cats anyday. The bond between dogs and their humans is a very special one. Once you’ve experienced it, it’s hard not to love dogs.

What about you? Do you love dogs? Or are you afraid of them?

I discovered this challenge all thanks to my dear friend Sadje’s post in response to this prompt.

For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a man on his knees who has his hand on his dog, against the background of what seems to be a beach at sunrise.

  1. I am definitely a dog person as I love them all, regardless of size or breed. Luckily we have a lot of generous dog owners here who let me have puppy fixes with their pets since we lost Maggie in November. Hopefully it will not be too much longer before we can find a new fur baby to adopt us.

  2. This reminds me of the movie
Hachi: A Dog’s Tale, a beautiful and heartbreaking story of the bond between the dog and its owner. You should definitely watch this if you haven’t already.

  3. Ah, I love this one, Shweta. Though I would not classify myself as a dog person, I’ve had a couple dogs, and they are true, loyal. And, for sure, one of my favorite pastimes is being at and walking along, the beach. I love it so.
