One-liner Wednesdays #47

Late

(adverb)

When the entire universe conspires against you and devises all manners of obstacles just so that you won’t reach your destination on time, especially if it’s something important.

This post was written in response to today’s One-Liner Wednesday challenge from Linda G. Hill. The challenge, as the name implies is to come up with a one-liner. Please click on the link to know more about the rules of this challenge and/or to read the other entries by my fellow bloggers.

Have you ever found yourself in this situation, where you were late despite leaving early?

I would have been late to office today all thanks to a few idiots who probably don’t have any business driving at all – people who block an entire lane with their car and hold up the traffic, people who cause unnecessary traffic jams, two-wheeler drivers who think it’s a great idea to drive excruciatingly slow exactly along the centre of the lane! I refer to this as “idiot traffic” and it is certainly high during the morning when the shops are open. Luckily, I left home well in advance and so I managed to punch in just before my shift started!

Wherever you are, I hope you are safe and well. Take care.

  1. 🤣 The definition was so funny! I was once late for my taxi because a student sent a really mean anonymous message to our teacher. Our teacher then made us all stay behind at the end of school until the student that did it confessed but they were too cowardly to. Instead, a student who really needed to be on time for a serious appointment owned up to it even though he didn’t do it – just so we could all be let go. I was also angry – if I’m not on time for my wheelchair taxi then it leaves without me.

    1. I am so glad that you enjoyed this.
Oh no, that was so mean of them. And the student that owned up to it even though they were innocent saved all of you, even the guilty student! I’m sorry to hear that your wheelchair taxi doesn’t wait for you!
