Communicate
(verb)
The additional responsibility that we unknowingly entrust the exposed parts of our faces when we mask up (properly).
This post was written in response to today’s One-Liner Wednesday challenge from Linda G. Hill. The challenge, as the name implies is to come up with a one-liner. Please click on the link to know more about the rules of this challenge and/or to read the other entries by my fellow bloggers.
Have you ever found yourself in this situation? People cannot make out if you are smiling or frowning if you are masked up. Sometimes the presence of masks tend to reduce the clarity and audibility of our conversations too!
Wherever you are, I hope you are safe and well. Take care.

Kind of like conversations on here. You don’t always know how to take someone over a screen.

Talking to someone whom you can’t see or hear can be tough indeed!

Apparently no more masks for us on Friday ..🙂

Oh! Only on Fridays? Is it only for the ones who are fully vaccinated?

I am glad to know I am not the only one. My hands unconsciously jump to action to prove the point when my words fail to do so!

True, sometimes I wish emojis worked in real life. With a mask on it can sometimes be hard to communicate your tone or show whether you’re happy or sad while speaking. Emojis would sure help with that!

That’s a brilliant idea. Maybe if the situation continues for long, we’ll have smart masks too. The ones that can actually help express emotions better! Thanks for reading, Simone.

Indeed, this is so true. I’ve also found that Zoom interactions, while much more effective than the phone, are still much less effective than being in person in regard to really feeling people. Nice post, Shweta.😊

My 2-year-old granddaughter will have quite a surprise when masks become a thing of the past – it’s almost all she’s ever known!

Oh! She must have only seen people with masks! I hope that it becomes a thing of the past soon!

Masks do hide a lot and very much a trouble in communicating. I have to shout at times to get the things from the grocery store.

Indeed. I find myself raising my voice at times too. That’s better than pulling down the mask! Thanks for reading, Kritika 😀❤️

Its rather annoying when your voice is actually low. 😀
