Pitch Black and the Seven Dwarfs – Part 2

Click here to read Part 1

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who in this land is wisest of all?
To this the mirror answered:

You, my queen, are wisest of all.
Then she was satisfied, for she knew that the mirror spoke the truth.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Will my Pitch Black be as wise as me?
To this the mirror answered:
She is the most beautiful girl in the kingdom and her beauty will only grow as time passes. However, wisdom is something that has to be cultivated. But with your guidance, my Queen, I am sure she will turn out to be the wisest Princess of her times.

Queen Rowena decided to take Pitch Black under her wing. And so Pitch Black’s lessons began, administered by a team of the best teachers in the Kingdom under the watchful eye of Queen Rowena. Though Pitch Black resented the lessons and her stepmother’s constant badgering, she put up with it.

As time passed, Pitch Black grew up and became ever more beautiful. When she was fifteen years old, she was as beautiful as the dark blue sky, and even more beautiful than before. But sadly, wisdom was one virtue that she lacked.

One day when the queen asked her magical mirror:

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who in this land is the wisest of all?
It answered:

You, my queen, are.

Anxious to know how her child was faring, she asked,
Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Is my Pitch Black wise enough for her age?

(To be continued… tomorrow)

  3. Interesting… It looks like, in this version, the villain is actually the good character because she feels concern for her child rather than jealousy. I wonder then whether Pitch Black will be the villain? Oh, I’m so excited to find out!
