Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who in this land is the wisest of all?
And always it answered:

You, my queen, are.

This disappointed the Queen for she knew that the mirror always told the truth, no matter how unpleasant it was. Anxious to know about how Pitch Black was progressing, she specifically enquired about Pitch Black:
Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
How is Pitch Black faring at the dwarfs’ home? Is she ready?
She is still learning, my Queen. But fret not, the day approaches when she will be as wise as you. Under the dwarfs’ care, she will blossom into the future Queen that this kingdom needs.

Slowly, the dwarfs imparted little yet meaningful lessons to Pitch Black and helped her become the princess she was always meant to be – the one that Queen Rowena wanted her to be. As days gave way to weeks, and weeks gave way to months, Pitch Black’s transformation was almost unbelievable. Gone was the proud, pampered and foolish girl who always fell victim to praise. Under the dwarfs’ careful mentoring, Pitch Black evolved into a humble, wise maiden who learned not to take anything for granted.

One fine day when the Queen posed her usual question to her magical mirror, it answered:

You, my queen, are; it is true.
but there is another who will one day,
not long from now,
be as wise as you.

Beloved Pitch Black, beyond the mountains
With the seven dwarfs,
Is emerging as a worthy competitor.

Pitch Black has finished her training, my Queen. She is ready. At last, she has evolved into a worthy Heir to the Throne.
