Nasty comments!

I was just going through my spam folder when I came across a comment from a genuine blogger that left me reeling from shock. Here’s a screenshot of the said comment

This particular comment appeared about 3 hours ago in my blog post titled A walk down the memory lane – My college days which was published on February 19, 2017. It’s been well over 4 years since I published this post and I have published a lot of posts ever since. It does make me wonder whether this particular blogger is of the opinion that my writing has deteriorated over the past 4 years! It’s also noteworthy that I wasn’t writing a lot back then.

Here, I was, happy under the assumption that my blog is flourishing and that my writing has improved. I was basking in the glow of hitting 3k followers and one of posts hitting 350+ likes. But this comment gave rise to a nagging voice inside my head – could it be true?

I’ve never received such a comment before. Do any of you feel the same? That my posts have become boring, that they’re not what they used to be! That I could do much better.

Do let me know. Please leave your honest opinions in the comment box.

  1. Hey, don’t let the haters bog you down 😊 Your writing is superb. It is natural that all your posts can’t be the same kind. One may not like all the genres that you cover. But I feel it is that the fact that you manage to pull off one- liners, six word stories, poetry, short stories and soo much more is really incredible and you should just keep doing what you do ! If there are some people who don’t like what you write, I am a hundred percent sure that there are gonna be way way more people who love your writing, (like me!) Not everyone has good taste 😊

You know how much we all love to read you … ❤️you are a wonderful writer and this post especially took me back to 4 years of my engineering as well. In your case mobile was rare, in my days it was unaffordable for common man 😉😄

    1. I was rescuing some comments from the spam and this was from a genuine site 😬
But yes, it went to spam for a reason. I’m glad that the post was nostalgic. In our case, costly mobiles were unaffordable! 😄
Thanks a lot for your support, HS ❤️🤗

  3. I’ve just been reading all the praise you’ve gotten from other fans here on your blog and that’s worth remembering. We have a tendancy to remember the one critisicm – that one rude person – we fixate on that and our insecurties then distort reality. It seems clear to me what the truth of the matter is Shweta. Wishing you well 🙏

    1. Oh yes. It is definitely worth remembering. The comments have made me realize that. Our insecurities do tend to rear its ugly head at the barest mention of criticism. This particular comments section will be special for me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🙂

  4. You should look at your own roundup post. Just a glimpse must be enough for you to understand how much love you receive from other bloggers. One bad comment doesn’t nullify 100s of good comments right? Sachin and Kohli may be the greatest batsmen of their generations, but the number of people who hate these guys is too many to count 🙂 You are doing a wonderful job. 3k followers is no joke! Keep writing and you have our support 🙂

People may not like a few of my posts by to claim that all of them were boring was a bit of a shock. Thanks a lot for your support. I’m grateful to have it.

      1. 😂😂😂😂
I hope that the numbers keep increasing steadily. But I hope that you don’t have a hater in that number 😂😃
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the number of followers don’t count. The number of people who engage matter much more! I hope that number increases for your blog 😊

  7. Hi! Well, I think you should just ignore it. As that is why WordPress marked it as “spam”.
I think that those people don’t actually have a job and just want to put people down. I think you are an amazing writer and an even better blogger❤️keep writing and never stop. Also, I tried getting in touch with you through the link for collab but it is not working for me. I not only have a cooking blog, I have creative writing blog as well.
