The best gift is you!

Poetry 1 Minute 
Someone might be more beautiful than you 
Someone might be richer than you 
Someone might be more popular than you 
Someone might be more accomplished than you 
Someone might be smarter than you 
Someone might be more efficient than you 
Someone might be more successful than you 
Someone might be wiser than you 
These realizations might eat your heart out 
But don't let the green-eyed monster in 
Fight against it with all your might 
You are special 
Unique in your own way 
There's no one else who can take your place. 
Don't fall victim to comparisons! 
It makes no sense to compare 
 your beginning to someone else's middle 
Or even the end. 
You are special 
Unique in your own way 
Love yourself a little more every day 
Believe in yourself a little more every day 
Trust in yourself a little more every day 
Have a little faith in yourself 
Boost your self-confidence 
Don't let anyone pull you down 
The best gift is you! 
When you truly believe in yourself, 
Anything is possible, and, 
The world is yours for the taking!

This poem was written in response to Sadje’s What Do You See prompt #87. Thank you, Sadje for hosting this challenge. The challenge is to use the picture prompt as inspiration to compose an original story, poem, or a caption.

For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a wall decorated by splashes of colors. There are outlined sketches of two hands on the wall. Above the decorations, the words “ The best gift is you” are written. A woman can be seen walking a baby in a stroller in the front.

  2. Very beautiful poem it is.
    Everybody have something unique in him, but you have only “you” along “yourself”.And this had never left you, never leave you, And this makes yiu unique when you find “you” in “yourself”.

  12. Thanks for this touching, beautiful, powerful word.. Yes some time we depressed because we thought we are not good enough ..just for to compare other person.. We need to Feel our inner beauty.. Stay happy

        That’s why they showed that the site doesn’t exist. You might want to change the link on your Gravitar profile too. And when someone asks for the link, you can tell them it is
        fruitsindustry.wordpress.com. Then they won’t have any trouble finding the site 😃
