Evolution – a tiny tale

In a very disturbing turn of events, several trees all over the world surprised humans with their newfound ability to move! It has been reported that several trees all over the world uprooted themselves and started moving forward haphazardly, leaving a trail of mass destruction in their wake. Scientists are quite baffled by this new development. We can only hope that all of the trees around us don’t catch this weird ability. The destruction would be unprecedented! Many experts believe this sudden evolutionary trend of trees to be Nature’s way of avenging years of abuse at the hands of humanity.

This post was written in response to the Friday Fictioneers photo prompt hosted by the lovely Rochelle. The Friday Fictioneers challenge is to write a complete story – beginning, middle and end in 100 words or less, based on the given photo prompt. A huge thanks to Rochelle for hosting this challenge.

Let’s hope that we don’t keep pushing Nature so much to the extent that she feels a retaliation is in order. But then again, there are many who believe that the coronavirus might be Nature’s way of avenging herself. Let us do our part, no matter how small it may seem, to save Nature and her precious resources. Even a small step can go a long way!

For the visually challenged readers, the picture shows several uprooted trees in front of a building. The entire appears to have been cordoned off.

  1. Beautiful post Shweta…I started doing a small thing of not separating the complete plastic from milk packet as I came to know that it being too small cannot be recycled after being separated from the main packet. Your post has to be taken seriously. Thanks for sharing.🙂

    1. Oh yes, I do that too. It’s hard to recycle tiny pieces of plastic. Thanks a lot for doing that seemingly small thing. But it makes a huge difference. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. ❤️🤗

  2. Such an interesting theme…I can imagine trees uprooting themselves and walking ahead much like zombies , thirsty for human blood, ready to chop is off just like we do to them….scary 👌👌
