Change – A Haiku

Pandemic changed us
We toe the line warily,
trying to be safe

This post was written in response to the Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge 373. The words for this week are line and toe. The challenge is to write a Haiku using the two words. Click on the link to know more about this challenge and to read the entries by my fellow bloggers. Thank you, Ronovan for hosting this challenge. 🙂

Pandemic has really changed our lives. It has brought a new world order. There has been a lot of casualties, tragic beyond measure. Many are isolated, being thousands of miles away from their loved ones. Most people think twice before stepping out of their homes. But on the other hand, more people are paying much needed attention to hygiene. The concept of personal space is no longer violated grossly thanks to social distancing. Everything from schools and shopping to even work have been made available to the comfort of our homes. We wear masks, sanitize ourselves and our surroundings vigorously, get vaccinated, stay away from crowds and do anything and everything in our power to be “safe”. I hope that it doesn’t continue this way forever.
