Recollect
(verb)
When you are desperately racking your brains, willing it to somehow uncover the identity of the masked person in front of you before they figure out that you didn’t exactly recognize them!
This post was written in response to today’s One-Liner Wednesday challenge from Linda G. Hill. The challenge, as the name implies is to come up with a one-liner. Please click on the link to know more about the rules of this challenge and/or to read the other entries by my fellow bloggers.
Do you have any other definition for recollect? Do let me know.
Wherever you are, I hope you are safe and well. Take care.

So true. I never forget a face, however I often forget the name if I don’t see that person regularly. 😁.

That happens to me too, Elle. The masks don’t make it easy at all! They just add to the trouble

Yes, the masks make it difficult, however I appreciate the people who wear them. 😊💙

Oh yes. It’s definitely a safer choice no matter how hard it is to wear them.

I was thinking this morning of someone I ran into in May, after not seeing him for probably two years. I had a mask on and had to remind him of who I was, but it was so awkward. Thankfully, I haven’t had that experience with anyone else.

Oh yes. It can be so awkward but the chances of such situations are higher than ever. I am glad that you didn’t have a repetition of that.

Haha, it happens so often now-a-days. Good one 👌

Oh yes. The masks make it very difficult to recognize a person at first sight! Thank you 😀

You speak for us all, even if we can’t make out what you’re saying from behind that mask!

Haha. I am with you. The mask does complicate matters a lot, doesn’t it? Masks – can’t live with them, can’t live without them! sigh

Lol so true. Happens when I go to a function and a random person is like, Remember Me and I just shake my head slightly and run off🤣
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha. The worst part is when they literally accost you and ask you to guess who they are and describe how they are related to you! And neither of your parents will be there to rescue you from sure embarassment when you really want them to. They would be out of sight. Man, I used to dread going to weddings because of this.

Exactly
And when i subtly shake my head they start bringing up incidents from when i was like an year old. And I just give that awkward laugh

Haha. I tend to do that too. There’s literally nothing else that we can do in such situations 😂
