The room was as silent as a grave.
The owner was fast asleep in the room next door.
The sleeping pills she had put into his night drink were working.
She had managed to gather as much jewellery as she could.
Effortlessly, she slipped into the locker room.
She did not expect to get caught.
Alas! Luck was not in her favour.
She had not anticipated that his wife would be home.
She hadn’t done anything wrong either.
She was just returning what her father had stolen.
But the cops thought otherwise.
She was a safe-breaker’s daughter after all.

Great way to weave the ASSUME method here. ASS out of U & ME. People make assumptions all the time & this was a great lesson on that. Well done!

Glad to know that you think it was a perfect fit. There’s much beauty in tragedy at times. I never quite understood that until I started writing fiction! Thanks a lot for reading. ❤️

Hey, not to be mean or to hurt your feelings, but updating your blog several times a day to get exposure is probably not a very wise thing to do. I found something on WordPress’s rules about this when I was searching for something else:
“Other examples of misuse include:
Using misleading or irrelevant tags
Marketing material, duplicate or low quality content
Attempting to push a post to the top of the tag results by changing the publication date multiple times”

Wow. You did do some research on this. Did you even read that? It says by changing the publication date! I never change my publication date. Since your comments, I’ve asked my veteran blogger friends of mine and they all seemed to agree that updating once or twice on the very same day is something all bloggers do. If you’re following a lot of blogs, stuff do seem to drown out. And I’m reiterating my point here – I never change the publication date. Because that’s not a wise thing to do at all. I know that already. Been blogging for more than a couple of years now. But thanks for letting me know anyway.

Oh, and it’s not several. The most I do is three and the usual I can manage is once.

I didn’t mean to attack you, or to make you feel upset. It would make me sad if your blog were taken down because of a misconception, that’s all. I wanted to prevent that. There are lots of people enjoying your stories, and that’s a wonderful thing.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t hurt by your words. Hearing the word annoying and their stories in the same sentence is not exactly a pleasant feeling. While I can appreciate your concern, let me assure you of the fact that even a lot of seasoned bloggers do this. There’s nothing wrong in wanting our posts to have optimum views. By the way, just out of curiosity, how many blogs are you following at present?

Hey. I’m sorry if I hurt you, I was in a bad emotional state back then. (Real life work stress)
I follow 35 blogs on WordPress.

It’s okay, but please try not to take it out on others. I know it’s difficult. When you’re going through a difficult time, even the slightest thing can set you off. I’ve been there and done that too. Most of us would have. But your comments caught me off guard and I started questioning myself. It wasn’t really a pleasant situation. But I’m okay now.
35? Oh that’s why you keep seeing my posts so often! No offense, but you see, when someone is following close to a 50 or 100 blogs or more, stuff does get drowned. That might also be the reason why I’ve never received a feedback such as yours before. Who knows, or maybe, they just kept quiet and un-followed me.

Hey, your post keeps showing up at the top of my followed blogs😵😵maybe your blog is being hacked by somebody?😵
LikeLike
Is that ethical though? No offense, but it was kind of annoying to see your same post at the top all the time😅
LikeLike
Unethical would be updated the same post over a period of many days, if you ask me. But then again, opinion varies from person to person. I picked up this trick from a vary experienced blogger friend of mine. And I most certainly do not think it’s unethical. Then I wouldn’t be using it, would I?
If there are many posts in Reader, your posts do tend to drown out. This is my way of making sure they don’t.

Well, it’s not against the law to update several times a day, and it’s your blog so I cannot force you into anything.
Unfortunately for me, it’s annoying to see the same post at the top all the time so I’m going to have to unfollow you.
Good luck with your blog and your stories though! I truly enjoyed this one😁
