The wooden benches in her garden had remained vacant for too long. Sita missed her children and the extremely naughty, noisy bunch of grandchildren. The restrictions prevented her extended family from visiting and transforming her home into a hive of activity.
This tiny tale was written in response to the June 23rd #1MinFiction Challenge hosted by Cyranny. The challenge is to write a very short story based on the picture prompt. The idea is to manage to type your whole story in a minute or less. Of course, you can think about it before hitting the keyboard, and you can take all your time to edit it afterward. Thank you for hosting this challenge, Cyranny.
The empty benches looked very sad to me. I would love to go to the place shown in this image. It looks beautiful and serene. Looks like those benches are yearning for human contact! Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions, many people are not able to visit even their closest family members. I hope that it won’t be too long until we will be safe to travel without worrying about the risk of infection.
For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a set of vacant wooden chairs and benches in the a cobbled pathway in the middle of a garden that is surrounded by a metal fence.

Everyone misses that for now, but I’m also very grateful. This infection can unite distant families into close ones.( ; Don’t forget that bench after the pandemic, because he misses you.

This is a really lovely concept. I liked the idea of the one minute story:) I wanna try too đ I always decide to keep my stories short and concise but then i just can’t help myself from getting lost in the description đ

Thank you so much, Nandika. I’m glad you liked it. You should definitely try this out. I have added a link to the original challenge prompt. I love to write tiny tales. I tend to struggle with the description đ

Haha We seem to have different problems as writers đ Sure I will try it out but I can’t guarantee that I will manage to finish the story đ

Haha. Yes. We’re complete opposites when it comes to the problems we face as writers đ Try and you’ll succeed eventually đđ
