Sunlight

Hot, dry summer morning
Try at it might, sunlight failed
To pry apart the wall of greenery
Diminished in strength from its effort
It filtered through as thin beams
Illuminating the tunnel of greenery
With its golden beams

The sun will always find a way to shine through. Light will always find a way. Darkness can’t last forever. Even the darkest of nights will eventually break at dawn. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel.

This tiny tale was written in response to the Crimson’s Creative Challenge #139 and Di’s Three Things Challenge #653. Thank you, Crispina and Di for hosting these challenges. The Crimson’s Creative Challenge is to write something creative in 150 words or less based on the given photo prompt. The Three Things Challenge is to use one, two or all three of the given words in your post. The words for today’s challenge were try, dry and pry.

For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a narrow walkway surrounded by a wall of trees and bushes on both sides.
